Wait & See

Can you believe that 2015 is only a couple days away?? I can't believe the past year has gone by so quickly but I could not be more excited for whats to come. Personally, I feel that 2014 was a prepertation of sorts- soul searching, removing emotional blocks, and really truly trusting in whatever my destiny may be, and after talking to friends and family over the holidays about this I found out they were feeling the same way.
I have been on my path of personal growth and self transformation for two years now, and all through 2014 there were constant reminders that I am exactly where I need to be. And after nearly a decade of being riddled with anxiety and the over whelming feeling that I was missing out on what my life was "supposed" to be, it is amazing to feel so centered and confident in knowing that what is meant for me will never miss me.
Synchronicity was everywhere this year, from repetitive numbers, to certain words reappearing, and random things that stopped me in my tracks- like the silver pendant I found on the ground that read "your guardian angel is protecting you" after I had begun doing my Angel card readings. Or after a 10 mile hike in the UP this summer, where I stood over looking the beautiful Minor's Castle, I took a moment to breathe it all in, closed my eyes for a second and looked down at my hands that were on the wooden railing and when I moved my hand I saw that there was "Julia" carved into it! I almost wanted to cry, it was too perfect, I had been standing there for several minutes with my hand covering it before I even knew my name was carved there. It was the universe speaking to me and letting me know that I was exactly where I needed to be.
I'm moving into 2015 feeling calm, connected to something greater then myself, with the intention to give without expecting a thing in return, and genuinely happy. I'm taking all the lessons that 2014 had bestowed upon me and leaving all emotions attached to those lessons behind- no time for fear, defensiveness, or the feeling of being owed something, whether it be a thank you or an apology. I only want to give love and be at peace with all aspects of my life.
I've made lists of specially what I'm leaving in 2014 and what I will be taking into 2015, I recommend this to everyone, especially if you feel you have been carrying something around that does not serve your highest good. You can even burn the list of what you're leaving behind for added closure- however, I like to look back on my journals and see that what I had wrote down actually came true.
Wishing everyone who may read this- inner peace, compassion for yourself and others, and contentment.

Feel Right

Wearing leather, gold, and vintage- all while giving a little charge to my sacral chakra!
I usually do not gravitate to orange, but when I found this glittery knit maxi dress almost 4 years ago in a thrift shop attached to my then apartment building, I instantly fell in love. However, I was broke as a joke at the time and didn't get it, 2 weeks later it was on sale for $4.00, and that was a price my wallet was very okay with ;)
I paired it with my leather jacket, vintage oversized leather clutch, and black pointy toed flats.

Lately I've been feeling a surge of clarity mixed with curiosity, however I've been keeping it to myself and my journal.  Silently observing my surrounding and sensing energies on a different level then ever before, it's intense but I feel it's what I have been being prepared for.
Self transformation and the lessons it brings along with it are so wonderful that they should be shared with the world, I do believe that. I also believe that there is something magical about keeping certain things to yourself, until you're truly ready to share.

The Trench Coat

We all have that one item of clothing that we have tried on and taken off numerous times through out the years, but when it comes time for a closet clean out- you just can't seem to part with whatever it may be. I have a couple of these pieces in my wardrobe, one of them being this black trench coat.
I bought it when I was 15 years old in Montreal on vacation with my mother, so I partially refuse to get rid of it for sentimental value but also because trench coats are timeless and never go out of style.
I paired it with a white midi skirt from Missguided, leopard ankle boots, a thrifted gray and gold cross body bag, and a dark red lip.

I'm currently enjoying one of the last Sunday's of 2014 in an oversized sweater and thigh high socks, curled up with coffee and Remington...there are few things better than this<3

Lots of love xx

My love for faux fur is everlasting and evidant thanks to this blog, but I have to admit that this obsession goes far beyond my wardrobe and has made it's way into my home. I recently purchased a gray faux fur throw for my bed (probably one of the best decisions I've made since winter has begun, it's so warm!) along with a white faux sheep skin rug for my office. It adds such a cozy feel to any room, and adds an element of texture.

I'm wearing a faux fur shawl my mother gave my last year, however, I folded it in half and looped it around my neck to make a scarf. Paired with a thrifted oversize sweater, black skinnies, my favorite ankle boots, a black and gold purse, and a floppy hat to finish it off! The make shit shawl/scarf was a last minute addition, but I just love the jewel tone and the gold glitter together.

Pop of pale pink

Long time, no blog!
The lack of content has been due to my recent move, which I mentioned in my Interior Inspiration post, and I am so happy to finally be completely moved in! I have a few more boxes to unpack downstairs but this weekend I'm beginning to put together my office and closet- expect a little tour when everything is all done!
My boyfriend snapped these shots in our backyard before running a few errands,  I'm hoping in the summer that the vines will take over our whole house- I absolutely love that.
I incorporated a pale pink beanie and a white faux fur moto jacket into what would have been yet another all black ensemble. Keep an eye out for lots and lots of new looks, making up for lost time;)
Until then, Lots of love & light to all
