Over It

So, I bought these over alls a month or so ago on a whim. Brought them home and completely fell in love, initially I styled it with a white collard shirt button to the top for a night out with friends. I decided to mix it up once the sun came out and paired them with a crop top and oversized flannel.
Accessorized with a fringe adorned clutch, a turquoise & amethyst necklace that's older then I am, and a black hat.

It's a fine line between farmer and fierce when it comes to over alls, a line I'll be walking all summer. ;)

DAZEY x I Dress For Me

Any of you who follow along with my line DAZEY probably already know about our first collaboration ever with the wonderful women's collective, I Dress For Me. I was contacted back in the beginning of March by founder Jessica DeFino asking if I would post about about IDFM, I had already started following her on instagram and was so happy to receive that email.

Here's a little bit of background details to help- when I had first started DAZEY I had a shirt in mind to help raise awareness for sexual assault, however since my line was brand new and I was testing the waters, I decided to put it on the back burner. I bounced my shirt idea around in my head and off of friends for another year and knew that when I released a shirt like this I wanted it to be in April since it is Sexual Assault Awareness month.
So last April I was waiting for my flight at LAX with my best friend, and DAZEY's marketing coordinator, Lauren. We had just attended Lucky FABB and were crazy inspired. There we were writing page after page in our notebooks of what we would like to accomplish in the next year, and at the top of that list was to create a shirt to raise awareness and make women feel powerful.
My idea that I had mentioned was to release a unisex shirt that said
'Consent is Sexy'
I liked the idea of men wearing it, but something kept telling me no and when it came time to begin making it, I had a serious change of heart. I realized saying that 'Consent is Sexy' implied  that consent was seemingly desirable, because it is synonymous with the word sexy, and hell no consent is not sexy or desirable, consent is mandatory!
I chucked that idea and started from scratch. It was during that time that Jessica reached out to me, the timing could not have been more divine, I instantly envisioned girls wearing '#Idressforme' shirts, raising awareness, and getting Jessica's baby, I Dress For Me, the proper attention it deserves! I responded with my idea rambling on and on, thinking that she might think I'm a little crazy for taking an email about posting about the hashtag to turning it into a t-shirt collaboration. Thankfully Jessica was completely on board and had been wanting to create a shirt as well.
When we got the okay from Jessica we got to work, like I said it was already the beginning of March and we wanted to release it on April 1st, which sounded almost impossible to some since I had begun working full time on top of running DAZEY. I didn't care, anytime I would come home dragging my feet from a long day of work I would remind myself why we were doing this, how grateful I am that this collaboration even happened, and about how this was going to unify and empower women.

I know this post comes a bit late, and be ready to see this shirt styled several different ways on the blog- my boyfriend and I literally shot this after I got out of work right before walking into a metal show haha- but I needed to say that I am just so happy this idea came to life, so thankful for Jessica and I Dress For Me, and over the moon about the positive feedback we have received. Seriously, I have so much love for everyone and anyone who has purchased the shirt, shared a post, and even simply 'liked' a photo on our social media outlets.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

You can get your '#idressforme' flowy crop top on, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the East Los Angeles Women's Center.

Last call for fall favorites, like this fluffy jacket by Lark that was a killer Nordstrom rack find. Paired with leggings, platforms from Missguided, and a floppy hat. Accessorized with a black and white hand bag, black scarf, and shades from Polette eyewear. I haven't seen any sunnies like the 'B&W' pair, they're going to be my go to pair for spring.
Shot this look with my girl and blogger babe Ashley, who recently started a blog featuring her own (crazy amazing) designs. Check it out for some serious style inspo, Iconoclasp Blog.

Gone Girl

Making a secret pact with my soul, madly in love with the story untold.
Yea, I'm leaving, I'm gone.

This is the last look from the black and white portrait series shot by Steven Hawkins. Keeping it simple in an all black jumpsuit, synched at the waist with a vintage beaded belt, black blazer thrown over top, and finished the look off with black shades and my favorite gold hamsa necklace. A little protection from negative energy goes a long way;)

Hate to go so soon but I'm back off to the grind, babes.

Sheer Black

She told me, "Watch the snakes, cause they watching you"

Bumping J. Cole while blogging, you know, the usual.
My boyfriend and I shot this all black look after work the other day, hence the lack of heel- giving my poor feet a break! haha If you're ever faced with a sheer tunic 'what the hell do I wear under this?' type dilemma, I've got you covered. A high waisted black body con skirt and black bralette solves the problem every time for me. Which is what I did here, paired with a black floppy hat, snakeskin cross body bag, round sunnies, and black sandals.
Come on spring, I'm more then ready for you.

Borrow from your Boyfriend

Borrow from your boyfriend, or the mens department.
Menswear is extremely prevalent in fashion right now, and as someone who sneaks into her boyfriends closet on the regular, I couldn't be happier.
While I often button my collared shirts to the very top, I opted not to and tied the bottom in a knot for a more casual look. Paired with a flowy mini skirt, snakeskin cross body bag, gold studded loafers, and aviators.

Back to work I go, listening to the rain but dreaming of the sunshine.
